Wisconsin Rapids' Sweetest New Obsession: The Cheesecake Slice 🍰

I have a confession to make…

Cheesecake is my absolute favorite dessert. Has been for as long as I can remember. So when I heard a cheesecake shop was opening right here in Wisconsin Rapids, I cleared my calendar for the ribbon cutting on May 4th. No shame. 😅

What I didn't expect was to walk into one of the most heartwarming local business stories I've seen in a long time.

The Cheesecake Slice is owned by husband and wife Jayda and Dylan. And their story is the kind that gives you goosebumps if you slow down long enough to hear it.

Nine years ago, Dylan baked one of his first cheesecakes to impress Jayda. A kind gesture of love and appreciation. A quiet Sunday kind of thing. What Dylan didn't know was Jayda wasn't a cheesecake fan… until that first bite.

Neither of them could have known that one cheesecake would set off a chain of events that would lead to a storefront on 8th Street, a line wrapped around the building, and a community that couldn't get enough.

They started in their home. Then rented a kitchen from a hotel. Then signed a lease, renovated a space, painted a mural, with hidden names of every single person who helped them get there, and opened their doors to Wisconsin Rapids on May 4th, 2026.

And Wisconsin Rapids showed up! ❤️

They sold out on opening day. Then the next day. Then the day after that. Every single day of their first week, sold out! At one point 500+ people wrapped around the building after 30+ hours of baking. Over 450 slices of cheesecake, 200 danishes and turnovers, 120 cream puffs, dozens of cinnamon rolls.. gone.

"Wisconsin Rapids LOVES cheesecake. Can't get enough."

That's Jayda and Dylan's words. And they're right.

Now I've had the cheesecake. And I can tell you firsthand, the hype is completely deserved. You can choose from their rotating menu of flavors like Strawberry, Chocolate, Vanilla, Pistachio, and Cookie Monster. Or you can build your own. Pick a chocolate or vanilla base, choose your toppings (strawberries, cherries, raspberries, etc.), and finish it with a chocolate or caramel drizzle.

It is as good as it sounds. Trust me on this one. You'd be absolutely fondue of this place. 😄 But what makes The Cheesecake Slice a true Cheesehead Champion isn't just the food. It's the heart behind it. It's Dylan posting a love letter to Jayda on Facebook because he wanted the community to know who really made this dream happen. It's the mural with hidden names honoring the people who showed up with hammers and paint brushes before the doors ever opened. It's Jayda and Dylan walking a 5K for the local Humane Society because supporting their community isn't something they do for marketing, it's just who they are.

Everything is baked fresh in house daily. Pre-orders require one week notice. And if you walk in hoping to grab a slice on a whim, you better get there early.
